The astronautical Society of India (ASI) was set up in 1990 to foster the development of astronautics in the country. ASI is engaged in the dissemination of technical and other information related to astronautics by conducting technical meetings, bringing out technical publications, and organizing conferences. ASI also recognizes the contributions of researchers and academicians in Astronautics by awarding. For this ASI has constituted awards in various categories. This year award function for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 was held on 09th Oct 2021 at U R Rao Satellite Centre, Bangalore, with other ISRO/ DRDO centres and participants, joined via CISCO Webex in virtual mode.
