Mr. A S Rajagopal was born on September 18, 1945.
He received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Madras University in
1968. He joined Armanament Research & Development Establishment, Pune, in
1986 to work in the area of design and development of missile warheads for
Prithivi, Akash, Trishul, Nag and other special projects.
Mr. Rajagopal carried out design and analysis of various subsystems, systems
integration and test methodologies for target effectiveness. He has established
special test methods for system analysis and design optimization. He led a team
of engineers to develop a mathematical model to evolve aa configuration of
performed fragmentation warheads to achieve desired beam width and fragment hit
multistage ejection system for submunition warheads with a capability of
ejecting simultaneously a large number of submunition. Thus, Mr. Rajagopal has
made significant contribution to rocket and related technologies.
Mr. Rajgopal has received the DRDO awards in 1989 and 1997 and has a good
number of classified technical publications.
Mr. Rajagopal is presented the ASI Award for the year 2000 in recognition of
his significant contribution to Rocket and Related Technologies.
